Shelter and forage

Shelter and forage for the bees project

This project is mainly concerning with planting trees native to the place for the purpose of increasing floral base and supporting conserving tree species of the area around apiaries.
Currently we have prepared over 100 tree seedlings native to Meru land where our demonstration apiary is located. Most of the trees carries local medicinal potential and we link it to beekeeping to get some of those medicine elements in the honey produced.

The project is not based only in Arusha but we expand it to all regions in Tanzania and beyond, to make sure availability of native trees which has faced human impacts than any other tree species.

It is true that most of our areas are experiencing change in vegetation cover since the slow growing native trees are replaced by non native commercial trees leading to new kind of flowers which has great impacts on the kind of bee products harvested.

The fuel of all forests that exist to provide habitats for all wildlife is pollination process, 80% of that pollination is done by bees, we honor bees as source of life and the world we have today and that's why we invest, explore and Conserve our natural wonders in the name of bees.
