Api-tracks & Cultural Tourism

We track the move of honey bees from ancient history to date and merge its angles with culture of communities around. This concept differecient us from other companies who offer apiculture tourism in a sense of Agri-tourism and cultural tourism separately worldwide, hence signifies us as unique and worth to visit.
We expose you to beautiful culture of Meru people through dancing, Preparation of local dishes as well as tasting foods of their favor while narrating fascinating stories of the long time interaction with the honey bees. We want to show everyone how apiculture is operated, and to give people the opportunity to meet the workers who produce the honey we sell. We get a lot of visitors, both tourists and locals, who want to know more about the honey production in Tanzania.

What we offer for you

You will visit a local organic Apiary in Ndoombo Village, 23km east of Arusha. Our guest house is in the same village but also a home. The apiary is one of the environmental friendly projects of Beewonders Investment. First, your local guide will show you the village and tell you about its history and beekeeping history as well as showing you tools and equipment used in beekeeping years ago. You will see the graves of two Germans who visited Meru for the first time and killed by the locals in Akheri Lutheran church in Mt. Meru, visit a primary or secondary school, and as you walk to the apiary you will see small farms mostly dominated by Coffee and Banana plantations, other crops you likely to see are, maize, beans and other vegetables andfruits.
You will learn and see the difference between organic honey productions and see how honey bees managed both stinging bees and stingless bees to when honey hervested.
After doing a bit of trekking from the Api-Garden and waterfall to the family’s house you are invited to a big Traditional lunch in the house also a home. You can taste chapatti, ugali, roasted banana, rice, spinach, salad, Honey Coffee, Loshoro, goat meat and fresh fruit of the season.
